LaNova's Bio


My backyard.......

Name:  LaNova Platero
            Meaning:  My dad tells me it means “the star”.  The story goes that my mom wanted to give me a french name.  While she was in the hospital my dad read an article about Novas and decided to combine the 2 and came up with LaNova.  It’s been very original for a long time, but I’ve recently heard of others named Lenova and just plain Nova.

Ethnicity: Native American from the Navajo Tribe
LDS Mission: Durban, South Africa
Family: My parents who have been married 44 years
            3 brothers (2 older and 1 younger) and 1 older sister I’m #4 in my family
Hometown: Montezuma Creek, UT
Shoe size: 7.5
Hobbies: Reading, watching movies, trail running, rock climbing, sports, and traveling.  I’ve been to Canada (BC, Alberta, Quebec), Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Chile, England, France, Germany, Spain, and South Africa.
